FRIDAY MAPUSA MARKET
Mapusa is famous only for the weekly Friday Market or bazaar which is a not to be missed shopping event for tourists and locals alike. MACKIES SA TURDAY NIGHT MARKET
To be found on the banks of river Baga, at Arpora- Baga, Goa. Open from November till April, unmissable, every Saturday 6.00 p.m. onwards, when sun is about to set till late at night. CLIVES SATURDAY NITE MARKET
Clive’s Saturday Nite Market at Arpora is a not to be missed night action while in Goa between the months of December till March. The market has hundreds of stalls, with all kinds of accessories and is lively with music and food. You'll see the most unconventional sights and some attractive people from all parts of the world walking along with a drink in one hand and a shopping list in the other! There are all sorts of world’s gastronomy available to choose from Greek, English, South Indian, Thai, Italian, Goan, Nepali, Indian, Indian-Chinese and desserts. The market sees at least 30,000 people walk in every Saturday from 7pm till 02pm past midnight. The Indian part of the market has Kashmiri items, wooden articles, silks, pashminas, masks, antiques and home accessories. The part of the market managed by foreigners has leather masks, feathers, clothes popularized by hippies. And as a touch of exotica there are fortune-tellers and tarot card readers. WEDNESDAY FLEA MARKET
The Wednesday Flea Market held at St. Michael’s Vaddo in Anjuna is totally different from the Indian markets and even different from the Goa Tourist markets. Vendors, Sellers and participants come as early as 05 am in the morning to start setting up their stalls. Business ends by sunset late in the evening. There are plenty of good restaurants that come alive during the flea market day. Originally started by eight fingered Eddie and his group of flower children who are becoming extinct now. Flea market was originally started by the hippies or flower children. Thousands of stalls selling rings n things from all over India. You will find Kashmiris, Gujarathis, Lamanis, Goans, Tibetans, Maharashtrians and many more, it’s like a mini India Mela (fair) of innovative Indians all gathered under the seashore sky of Anjuna to sell in an open daytime market.
ARPORA GO KARTING
The enthusiasm of driving in the fastest track is surely infectious up in India and the service of Karting in Goa is a right sign towards it. The Go-Karting race tracks in Nuvem, positioned towards north of Margao (South Goa) is very fashionable and is considered to be one of the best in the entire country. Funky Fridays is what it gets at Hill Top Friday Market. A recent adding to Hill Top's schedule of e vents is its weekly flea market on Fridays. More personal and discerning than the Anjuna Wednesday Market and Arpora Saturday Night Market, Funky Fridays at Hill Top features local and international designers and vendors selling everything from vintage wear, fashion, accessories to cool bric-a-bracs. A great way to spend an afternoon shopping, eating and idling. Apart from its wild, irreverent vibe, the organization at Hill Top is meticulous- with printed tickets, garbage collectors, kiosks for drinks and food, and artists flown in from across the world, often featuring some the industries finest. The right of entry is fair, the drinks are inexpensive, the vendors sell everything you need and the ambiance is superlatively laid-back, a throwback to another more tranquil era.
CURLIES SHACK
Curly's This is positively one of the best places in Goa during daytime for tranc e people, freaks, hippies & other positive people... :-) It is to be found just next to the Anjuna Flea Market place, on the farthest south of Anjuna beach. Nice beach shacks with really pleasant music ( psychedelic trance & ambient in Curly's bar, and Israeli psy trance in some another beach shack 50 metres further to the south), polite people - so this is really outstanding place for some psychedelic relaxation before/after parties, or just for watching the beautiful Goan sunset while drinking some fresh pineapple juice.. )
SHORE BAR
Under a new management now, Shore Bar was the king and queen of beach parties a couple of years ago. The beach shack restaurant still continues on. One can still see spectacular sunsets from their restaurant area. The food is still good, but with the passage of time and tide the bar has changed much but the shore still remains the same.
S HIVA VALLEY
Shiva Valley is the unexceptional shack just next door to Curlies that turns into one of Goa’s newest party spots every Tuesday. The parties begin at sunset with the “chai mamas” setting out their tables in preparation of feeding the hungry dancers. The venue attracts well known DJs from across the world and the dance-floor is packed soon after it opens. HOUSES OF GOA MUSEUM
Houses of Goa", is a unique museum by reputed architect Gerard da Cunha, condenses for future generations the impressive outcome of the incorporation of eastern and western architectural styles. The museum is built as a traffic island in Torda, Salvador-do-Mundo, Goa. Oddly enough it is in the shape of a triangle and looks like a ship. Observed from the outdoors it is an enigmatic structure of architecture, but as you begin your visit, it slowly unfolds its attractions.
SALIGAO CHURCH
This superlative church of interest to tourists is found in the adjacent village of Saligao, touching to Porvorim village where Mount Valley Guest House is situated. Assembled from the fragments of the convent of Mae de Deus (Mother of God) at Old Goa, and holding a Gothic structure, the Mae De Deus church or Saligao Church is one of the oldest churches in North Goa. A spiralling edifice all painted in pearly white, this church was built in 1873 as a shrine in true Greek architectural style. The external edifice looks spectacular with a gong in the center at the top of the church, large jutting cones all around the building and a statue of the Mother of God in the center. Inside the church you will find large wooden pews, low chandeliers and a central aisle which leads to the main altar. On the right hand side is the community center which organizes events for the fun loving local people of Saligao. This antique Gothic church of Saligao is very close to the village of Monte Guirim. AGUADA FORT & LIGHTHOUSE
Fort Aguada and its lighthouse is a well-preserved seventeenth-century Portuguese fort standing in Goa, India, on Sinquerim beach, overlooking the vast spans of Arabian Sea. The fort was built in 1612 to safeguard against the Dutch and the Marathas. It was a orientation point for the vessels approaching from Europe at that time. NERUL RIVER BOAT RIDES
Nerul offers a very cool atmosphere to carry out backwater boat trips at Coco beach. Nerul's picturesque loveliness and calm water makes Nerul a picture-perfect destination for backwater boat trips. In Nerul River one can notice backwater cruises enjoyed on wooden houseboats which can be hired on the Nerul beach. COCO / NERUL BEACH
This is the only beach of Goa in which a horizon cannot be seen. Rather one can see the city line or city scape of Panjim city right in the front. This beach is located in the village of Nerul just after crossing over the bridge close by near Candolim Tinto (junction). Nerul beach is more popularly known as Coco beach. This beach is famous for birdwatching, river boat rides, fabulous Goan sea food restaurant below the bridge and quite surroundings. The beach of Coco or Nerul beach is just a short bike ride from Mount Valley Guest House.

This is the first and original Tibetans market in Goa. On the Calangute Football Association Grounds, in a tucked away corner but touching the junction road of Calangute & Baga is situated the covered market for Silver Jewelery. If it's Rings n Things you are shopping for, then this is the best place to start your silver jewelery shopping in Goa. Lots of other Tibetan markets are splattered around this Calangute Tibetan Market.
